Washington University Alumnus Russell Schwartz & Barbara Schaps Thomas

Russell Schwartz is Senior Vice President & Head, Original Programming Business & Legal Affairs at Starz.   Before Starz, he spent 17 years at HBO, during which he was Executive Vice President and General Manager of HBO Independent Productions (Everybody Loves Raymond, Martin and Roc) as well as President of HBO Properties (HBO's merchandising division). He holds a law degree from Cornell University and is a member of Washington University’s Arts & Sciences National Council as well as Vice-Chair of the WashU Los Angeles Regional Cabinet.

Barbara Schaps Thomas is an accomplished actress and former entertainment industry executive. Previously Senior Vice President and CFO of HBO Sports, Inc., she is also a graduate of Washington University’s Drama Program and has a lengthy and varied acting career. Schaps Thomas is past-President of Primary Stage’s Board of Trustees in New York City and Chair of Washington University’s Arts & Sciences National Council as well as a University Trustee.
