Performing Arts Department drama alumna Carolyn Kras recently won two prestigious awards: a Fulbright and a residency at Disquiet International Literary Program in Lisbon, Portugal. The winning play, Reticence, was a winner of the A.E. Hotchner Playwriting Competition.
For her Fulbright, Kras will be Playwright-in-Residence at Sell A Door Theatre Company in London. Kras' play will dramatize historical events in the lives of King George III’s daughters to explore parallels related to contemporary sexual assault cover ups. She will also be affiliated with the British Library and University of Oxford Libraries, where she will be doing primary source research on the sisters' original correspondence.
